Yonemoto Physical Therapy can save your company $1000s in workplace injury costs!
Preventing movement disorders and fixing work related injuries before they cost the company compensation, lost time, and lost production has a significant impact on a company’s success. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average workplace injury costs about $10,000. For this reason health and safety at work takes on a high priority for most companies.
We offer WorkSTEPS® for pre-offer & post-offer employment testing and functional capacity evaluations to help reduce work related injuries and costs.
Overview of WorkSTEPS® Testing:
- Evaluating and screening current and potential employees to determine their abilities to physically perform their job duties.
- Assessing employee injuries to guard against fraudulent claims.
Benefits to Employers
- Virtual elimination of fraudulent work-related injury claims
- Returning injured employees back to work sooner
- Ensuring that new and existing employees are safe performing their jobs
- Comparing employee test results to an expanding national database
- Reducing employee turnover
- Saving companies money – up to 80% over previous year’s medical costs
- Save employees needless pain and suffering.
Core Components of Testing:
- Musculoskeletal evaluation: including assessments of the employee’s range of motion, strength, posture, and joint integrity.
- Cardiovascular status: including the employee’s recovery condition, risk profile, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Static (isometric) and Dynamic (isotonic) strength evaluation: of the employee’s back and other extremities, with analysis for deficits and/or abnormalities. A resultant comparative analysis to the national WorkSTEPS® database, containing information from thousands of employees tested, will also be completed.
- Risk profile: for the employee’s “over-use syndrome” (i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome).
- Essential functions: the employee’s job specific or job simulation components. The employee will also be instructed in proper body mechanics and lifting techniques.
By providing health and safety at work and by utilizing the WorkSTEPS® program, employees learn how to be responsible for doing no harm to themselves.
